When I first started my online business I just did a quick job of putting together a blog. Now I know better, this is actually the problem with the internet. People use the internet to try to get people to read their blogs and all we do is ask them to click on our little hyperlink that will lead them to our other little hyperlink that takes them to our e-shop. If you want people to read your blog you need to take time to think about what you are saying, how you say it, and how well you say it. There is also the matter of pictures, title, and meta tags.
First I went to the Google Image search to get my blog into the Google images search. I noticed there was a problem with the keywords. Not that the keywords weren’t suitable, but for the most part they were not in the order I wanted them to appear in the title, I couldn’t use images in the title, and I couldn’t use all capital letters in the meta tags.
I started looking around for blog platforms. I tried Blogger, WordPress, iHub, and others. The best one I found was Squarespace. I liked the look of it, it was easy to set up and get running, and it was very easy to use. However, its Achilles heel was that if you wanted to use a picture, for whatever reason, you had to use a professional photographer. I realized I could write articles and place them on other websites, thus getting my pictures into the search results. Not that I would ever publish those pictures, but I could position my blog in a certain way so I could appear in the search engines ranking higher than other blogs that didn’t have pictures. I could also embed YouTube videos, thus making me appear higher in the search engine rankings on Youtube. There was a catch with Squarespace though, the catch being if you weren’t a paying subscriber, you couldn’t edit or use pictures or videos. This meant that all I could do was upload content to other websites and then have someone else edit them, or write articles and place them into my blog. It was a very manual process, which meant that if I wanted to do this full time, I would have to hire someone to do this all on my behalf. I decided to move to Tumblr, which at the time was still in beta. I would still need to hire someone to do this all on my behalf, but it was a lot easier.
Now, there were a lot of options available for blogs, and I decided to jump into the fray. I decided to start a blog called “Happiness Begins at Home”. I chose this name because it summed up the idea of my blog which was all about happiness. My focus would be all about happiness, and the more happiness I had, the happier I would be. I had made up my mind that I was going to create this blog. I also chose to launch it on November 1st. I knew that this was going to be my ticket into success.
Now for the next 6 months, I began putting together the content that would drive traffic to my blog, and begin driving traffic to my real life businesses. I also made sure that I hosted my blog on the best WordPress themes available, and purchased some of the best affiliate products I could find. I also wanted to create an About page and contact information on my blog, and set up some other marketing material. Then I got to work on my real life business.
Things were going well, and I was making good money. I also made sure to follow up with my real life business on a daily basis. I also sought counsel from my mentors on a daily basis. What did I learn? I learned that this was not going to be easy. It was going to be hard work, and there would be times where it would seem like I was working 24/7. I also learned that no matter how hard I worked, it was going to take time to build any of these businesses. So I pushed through and had faith that one day I would succeed.
So if you want to get into this industry, I recommend that you have faith in your products and push through the hard times. Remember that this is going to take hard work. I also recommend that you get guidance from people who have already made it in this industry. You don’t want to be like them, so seek advice from those who have already achieved success in this industry. I recommend that you build a real life business, and not just an online business. You can start out small, and then move it up when you have the money to do so. You can buy some of the affiliate products that are best suited for your industry, and find affiliate products that are designed to help you with your efforts. It is important that you use experts when possible, when choosing affiliate products. People who have already achieved success in your industry will give you a free advantage over someone who is just starting in your industry. They will know what to look for, and what does and doesn’t work in this product.

Once I found that plan I took action and did everything I could to implement it. Once I did that, my life became a priority and was not just an afterthought. My “other” life became a “main” life and I started to feel lighter and happier.

Every time I think about the “other” life I want, I remember all of the things I am not allowed to do in my business. It’s not about the “other” life, it’s about my other life.

It’s about becoming the mother, daughter, son, nephew, niece, partner, employee, friend, adviser, confidante that you want to be. The business is a reflection of who you are.
